First of all I feel like I need to apologize for not posting much this summer. Seriously how is it August already? Between having a new addition to our family and building a house, we’ve been just a little preoccupied. Hopefully this post makes up for it because I’ve been so excited to share my sisters wedding with you. Kristina and her hubby Matt tied the knot last month and their wedding was stunning. She made the most gorgeous bride and everything came together beautifully.
My Lila Belle was a darling little flower girl. She did such a great job walking down the aisle and was a dream all day.
Ok my parents look way too young to have three married daughters, am I right? My Fam Jam ~ minus brother-in-law Ray who was away doing military training
My Three Sisters Lila just loves her Auntie Krissy
My People ~ Still getting over the fact that my little bro towers over us.
Matt and Kristina’s reception perfectly emulated their relaxed, easy going personalities. Having a reception outside just puts everyone in a laid back mood.
The farm venue had a rustic yet elegant feel. When guests stepped out of their vehicles they were led down a path, which felt like walking through an enchanted forest. With a beautiful grass meadow and lit up trees, it really was the perfect depiction of a dream fairytale wedding come to life.
The decor featured lots of greenery and shades of blush, paired with gold and pewter. The pots came from our grandmother and aunt, which was a fun sentimental touch. I love everything about the natural, bohemian style.
Our mom is really quite amazing. Not only did she put together the entire wedding but she also did all the food as well. Kris had always wanted a backyard bbq style menu so my mom ran with it… creating a very elegant backyard bbq at that. The menu consisted of gourmet beef and bourbon bbq chicken sliders, as well as kettle chips. With a variety of salads including, classic potato, oriental chicken, greek couscous, fiesta corn, berry spinach and caesar salad. It was so delicious!
My personal favorite part of the reception was this appetizer table that was replenished all night. The picture speaks for itself… nothing better than wine and cheese!
Since we had to have portable toilets, we decided to class it up a little with an entry tent. We had a full sink for guests to freshen up and created a lounge, complete with seating and a full length mirror. We even had a basket of bathroom essentials for guests.
Matt and Kris’s wedding was a beautiful celebration of love. I’m so incredibly happy for them and wish them the Lord’s blessing for years to come.
Bridal Bouquets & Floral Crown ~ Seven Sister Designs ~ I know I’m a little bias, seeing as Kay is my dear friend, but she really is the best florist around. Her delicate blending of blush flowers coupled with natural greenery made her arrangements structured yet whimsical.
Photography ~ Craig Swanson Photography ~ Craig was so organized and relaxed the day of the wedding and went above and beyond to capture the beauty of the day. The pictures speak for themselves and I would highly recommend him for your next event.
Venue ~ Oostema Farmstead Inn ~ The Oostema’s are some of the most helpful and sweet people I’ve ever met. They knew what we needed before we even knew we needed it. Their farm is beautiful and they just opened a bed and breakfast. What a perfect place to stay to enjoy Lynden’s countryside.
Brides Hair ~ Erika M. Hair ~ Kristina’s best friend is a hairdresser, which made the morning of all the more fun.
Brides Make-up ~ Kelsey Faber ~ Cousin of the Bride.
